Hey Everyone,
Hope you all are doing lovely and feeling great! Happy hump day! So, a while back I ordered this strapless bodycon dress from Forever 21 for around $10.00. I always stay away from strapless dresses because I was blessed with big boobs, so to avoid a wardrobe malfunction, I just don't wear strapless dresses. Butttt, I loved the floral print of this dress and it was inexpensive so I thought why not?! When I wore the dress for the first time it kept riding up when I walked, and I didn't feel comfortable wearing it without a jacket so I knew something has to be done. I mean...whats the point of buying a strapless dress if you cover it up with a jacket of some sort?! Anywho, I spotted it in my closet the other day and figured that I would just turn it into a pencil skirt! It was a very simple DIY. All I did was use my sewing machine to taper the sides, and voila, a pencil skirt was made!
Shame on me for not taking any step-by-step pics of the tapering procedure. I basically used the same method used by Veneea in this video. Although the video shows you how to make jeans straight leg, its the exact same concept!

DeleteFantastic! I love the transformation...well done!
ReplyDeleteThanks lady!! Im actually a little surprised that it came out so well.
DeleteWhat a great idea! Such a cute outfit and it's a great way to incorporate a trend without going crazy.
ReplyDeleteI see nothing wrong with wearing sequin shoes in the day time. ;)
Question: What type of camera and tripod do you use?
Thank you!! Yes sometimes we get so caught up in trends that we want to rush to the store once a new one comes out. But it always best to shop our closet and see what we have in there first.
DeleteI use a Canon Rebel T3 to take my pics and I dont know the brand of my tripod. But it got it off ebay for like 30 bucks including shipping and its pretty sturdy. I've had it for about 10 months now and no major problems. Hope this helps!
Love this. You are so creative. You need to pass some of that down to me.
