Hey Everyone, Hope you all are doing lovely and feeling great. A couple of weeks ago I was invited to Latin Fashion Week Ola! This was the first time that Latin Fashion Week was held in NY, so you can only imagine my excitement when I was invited to go! Sobeidy Vidal, the mastermind behind Latin Fashion Week started it because she wanted to "share, demonstrate, and help generate Latin pride and empowerment with her community and the world." Check out some pictures from the event after the jump!
The lovely host of the event. I missed her name. But she is a host on a popular latin TV network.
The first brand to hit the runway was Xcluzv. Xcluzv creates women's swimwear and fitness attire that is inspired by the Brazilian culture. Below are two of my favorite swimsuits from the designer, but you can check out more of the designs on the Xcluzv website.
Musical Artist KLS serenaded guests in between sets.
Second designer up was Maurizio Alberino. He is an Italian designer who lives in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. His clothing line for men consists of suits, shirts, accessories, sportswear, and formal wear. Check out a few of my favorite Maurizio Albernio looks below. Also check out his website to see more of his designs (the website is in italian btw. lol).
Next up was the shoe line K James Couture created by designer Kate Ferguson. K James Couture is based out of Los Angeles, CA and has created shoes for Katy Perry, Kristin Cavallari, and Rihanna! K James Couture definitely has some haute shoes!!
Last but not least was designer Adolfo Sanchez. His designs were my favorite! They were very elegant and poise. I could picture myself wearing his clothes. Below are two of the dresses that from the line that grabbed my total attention...can you say gorge! You can check out more of Adolfo's designs on his website, click here.
Ignore the mic stand and focus on the dress! Lol.
Desinger Maurizio Alberino and Sobeidy Vidal, founder of Latin Fashion Week Ola!
A young lady at the event! Fierceness all around!!
Myself and Sobeidy Vidal.
Overall I had a great time at the event. There is room for improvement where flow and organization is concerned. But with this being the first time that the event was being held in NY I have to give some leeway. Kudos to Ms. Sobeidy Vidal for bringing this event to NY and sharing Latin pride. I am looking forward to Latin Fashion Week next year. Hopefully I'm invited to attend again. You can see more photos of the event on CherrieAmore'sFacebook Page.
P.S. Sorry that I don't have a full length picture of my outfit that includes my shoes. I know you guys like to see what I wear to events. I didtake a full length pic in front of the step and repeat, but it missed the Latin Fashion Week Website.
I loved your outfit - especially that skirt! It looks like there were some hot looks this event and lucky you for being invited; hope you enjoyed! P.S. I'm back...check me out at www.janellesjourney.com! :-)
